These camps are for students who have just started music lessons, as well as for those who have been performing for a few years. These camps will help you improve to new levels in your skills and love for music. Your parents and music teachers will be impressed with on how much you grew as a musician after attending one of our camps. In addition, you’ll enjoy the recreational activities available on a college campus and have fun making new friends by meeting students just like you.
The WIU Summer Music Institute is a music camp for Junior High and High School students to spend a week developing their skills on their instrument/voice.
Join other junior or high school music students for a week of creative skill-building and performance in band, orchestra, choir, musical theater and jazz ensemble. Concert groups rehearse throughout the week and your family and friends are invited to the final concerts. Classes are designed to help you polish your ensemble and individual performance skills with a variety of music-related topics and techniques. Evening concerts and after-class recreation round out an exciting and dynamic music camp experience. Evening concerts are a mix of guest performing artists, student and faculty recitals.
Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, a summer school of the arts located on a 1,400 acre campus in Michigan’s Manistee National Forest, offers fine arts education for all ages. Each summer, the principal camp program serves more than 5,400 gifted elementary, junior high, and high school students with diverse programs in music, art, dance, and drama while offering more than 175 performances during its Summer Arts Festival. Blue Lake also operates a widely acclaimed International Exchange Program and two public radio stations. Since its inception in 1966, Blue Lake has provided cultural enrichment to more than 300,000 gifted students and countless concert-goers.
Interlochen was founded in 1928 and is located in beautiful northwest lower Michigan. Each year, thousands of artists and arts patrons come to Interlochen to experience world-class educational and cultural opportunities. Students study music, theatre, visual arts, film, creative writing and dance, guided by an outstanding faculty and guest artists, and inspired by the scenic beauty of our campus.
